Margaret Berry typically works in stoneware clay and fires an electric kiln. Glazes and oxides are selectively combined to create her signature colorations. Dinnerware safe materials are used for all clay pots. Bronze castings of the stoneware sculptures are available for commissioned work.
All items are sculpted by hand; she does not use moldings. Hands, feet and facial features are the keystone of every piece of figure work as they convey the sculpture's message in body language. They bring life to the puppet figures.
There are many more sculptures that Margaret has produced and these will be added to this developing web site.
Margaret is preparing a series of sculptures for a traveling exhibition in 2009 based on works by the great Welsh poets such as R. Wiliams Parry
freespace.virgin.net/r.cadwalader/eifionydd.htm and Waldo Williams. This work is due for completion Christmas 2008 when Margaret will be starting an investigation into the workplace, creating sculptured statements for the work environment.
The images show work in progress for "The Mistress".
